In the Catholic religion, Holy Wednesday is the day of Holy Week much remembered because it was the day when Judas Iscariot agreed with the chief priests of the Temple of Jerusalem to deliver Jesus in exchange for 30 pieces of silver. That betrayal was consummated late at night on Mount Gethsemane, where with a kiss to Jesus, Judas indicated to the captors that this was the man they should arrest. That episode is known as "The Kiss of Judas." At that moment, while Jesus was being arrested, he uttered the following statement: "Judas, with a kiss you give up the son of man."
